The nastiest surprise came from the companion of Grand Moff Zebulon Tarkin. Her name reminded me of something green, but I can’t remember her full name. It was probably a fake name. She had long red hair, an athletic build and she was rather attractive. During the party I crossed her gaze from across the sea of guests. Her gaze made my blood run cold, and the warning hairs on the back of my neck stand. I looked at her and saw, death. She was powerful. She was sensitive to the Force. And she had embraced the Dark Side. If she knew who I was, she would kill me in a heartbeat. She looked at me like she knew there was something unusual about me. Then the crowd blocked our view. When they cleared again, she was gone.

There was a rather pleasant surprise. Dran and his companion “The Princess” both arrived at the party. They were there also to meet with the Director General, who was a close friend. We spent a few minutes catching up with events and each other. Then the time came for us to make our move.

By the musicians, we had spotted an open door. It lead straight under the stairs. It was unused and unguarded. At the moment the Duke and Duchess arrived at the party we slipped through the door. I’d tipped the band to ignore our indiscretion. We found our way through the room at the back to the kitchen door. Listening at the door we learned that some rebels had tried to blow up the palace. They had been found and detained by some COMPNOR youth.
