This story doesn’t have a happy ending. Yanna had only practiced with me for a few days. She was far from capable of using her skills to protect herself. As the blast doors were almost closed, I watched her succumb to the pressure from the Stormtroopers. A blow hit her that she wasn’t ready for. It’s not surprising really. She didn’t see it coming. She didn’t have the training to prepare for the blow. To counter attack. To protect herself. The blow wasn’t overly serious. It wasn’t a life threatening hit. It didn’t really matter. It broke her concentration. In moments she was at the bottom of a pile of Stormtroopers while the Dark Lord of the Sith watched on. And then the door sealed shut. Yanna was gone.

Our time had come to leave. I watched the hatch close. Haselvlat clawed at the door mournfully. That one gesture so eloquently reflects my feelings as well. The rest of the escape passed almost as if an afterthought. I’ll bet that my companions don’t share the same viewpoint. Perhaps it’s just my perspective and placing it against our loss. Time will tell. Using Kir’s impressive navigational skills and a little insight from the Force we were able to plot and execute an impossible jump from the shipyards, through the morass of ships, mines, guns, satellites and the asteroid belt. We will stop about a day’s jump from the shipyards. From there we will execute a series of jumps and find ourselves, where?
