As one of Master Li's most promising students I was trained harder than most students. Sent as a trainee to attempt tasks that normally required an student or Padiwan with years of training. It was no real secret that Master Li had something special in mind for me. Everyone knew it. It made my time at the academy difficult. It was also hard for Cyrian. For Cyrian to be Master Li's prized student and then to betray Master Li would be the perfect revenge. No matter how hard Cyrian tried. No matter how many of Master Li's weak and pathetic students he beat, Master Li never offered any praise. Never raised Cyrian above the other students. Never singled him out once to show his martial prowess as an ideal for all the students to aspire. Master Li just sent weak and stupid students to fight and beat again and again and again. Eventually one of them would get a lucky strike in and occasionally win a match. But those were the exceptions, not the rule. I had everything that Cyrian desired and could not have. And I didn't want any of it. How that must have festered in Cyrian. Growing larger and uglier until it was time to enact the Twi'lek revenge.

Cyrian retuned to Ryloh. I find it interesting that upon his return he searched for praise and recognition of his stills and accomplishments. So he found the Mu'tai. For a time he was the Sho Ren. The ultimate acknowledgement of his skills and his righteous place in the universe. The "Bravest of the Brave." Then he was toppled. Another lucky blow perhaps. Trying to get back on top he ran across me. To protect him from Yanna's wrath I took Cyrian with me when we departed Ryloh for Eyre. Another chance for Cyrian. A chance to finish his mission and finish his revenge.
