Assigning blame does little to correct your situation. It just gives the being who is doing the blaming more things to complain about. The cycle continues and feeds upon itself. Instilling hopelessness and trapping the person in a web of veiled half truths. It becomes a pathway into the dark side.

Responsibility can drive you, pushing you beyond things you would consider safe or reasonable. The painting. So much went into recovering this artifact. The problems we encountered at Manan. The stillbirth of the Selkath revolution. The web of intrigue on Ryloth. Most interesting was Matt. Matt felt that somehow he had failed in recovering the painting on Manan. He felt responsible for much that happened. So Matt chose to take responsibility for his perceived shortcomings. It made sense to recover the painting and keep it safe. Perhaps as a way to atone for all that happened? Matt found the weight of that responsibility on his shoulders. Matt was bowed down by this weight, he was not crushed beneath it. Rather he drew strength from his commitment and recovered the painting.

Two different interpretations of responsibility. One is a trap, one allows you to find direction when you've become lost. Both are valid and represent the duality inherent in the force. For in the end they are both the same concept, just from different points of view. The light or the dark. The choice belongs to each one of us.
