Matt Rook was born of nobility on a humid mid-day in the year of 3006 on the planet Sarna. His child-life consisted of regal sports, etiquette and when his brother was preoccupied, driving the family 'mech around the Rook Estates!! He soon became obsessed with the training programs and he seemed to be a natural. Soon, he was better than his older brother, Justin. Justin started to resent Matt and stopped his training to be a 'mech pilot. By his birth right the family 'mech was his but he withdrew and went to medical school. He kept family contact to a bare minimum and shut Matt completely out of his life. Matt continued on with his training and he showed the famous Rook attribute of persistence. He soon could beat all his friends and then his mentors. His father having given up on Justin decided to give the family 'mech to Matt. Though excited, Matt wanted to enlist and show to everyone what he and his family heritage was capable of. Soon, Matt became the leader of the 213th and that is how it started. Usually found studying or conversing with his Lancemates, Matt has accepted his role as leader in the 213th. He does not fear death, but he does fear failing his men.
