"We have not talked much," she began, "as we share very
different philosophies you and I. Where as I have sworn a
life oath never to practice the ways of violence again, you
my skilled ally were raised on it. In many ways, you remind me
of my friend Quinlan Vos. Master Vos actually... He came
into the Jedi Order later in life, trained like you were to be a
soldier. While he did not walk the path of darkness, he never
strode far from it. Quinlan believed that you could be immersed
in the darkness, but not be dark. For this the Council cast him as
an outsider, one not to be trusted. But even Master Yoda
would admit that he was one of our best."
"You Sera, can learn from his example. Be in the darkness, but
do not be dark. You must find your own path, I can not teach
it to you. Nor, I am afraid, can Quinlan. Despite his life lived out
on the fringe of society, it failed him in the end. P2-D4 has told
me that he was last seen on Kashyyyk..."
Marrla paused, collecting her feelings before she continued.
"While I could not walk his path, perhaps you can learn from
it. He once gave me this, which I will now give to you. It was
something that he was interested in, and perhaps can assist you.
Not as good as a holocron I'm afraid, but perhaps it can show you
a light to follow on the path ahead."
