	But those times were gone, swept away by the dark hand of a Sith lord. Palpatine! How could it be? He was our Chancellor! But P2-D4 had confirmed what Lim and the others had told her. Palpatine was a Sith lord, the Jedi were dead, and the Republic was little more than a memory. She had been spared the purge, through actions not of her own. While she had willingly decided to enter the carbonite stasis, she was sure it was Quinlan who had hidden her in this place. It had saved her, but the extended freeze had permanently robbed her of her vision. A small price to pay for a Jedi, for the Force could let her see as well as any eyes, but she still missed looking upon the faces of her friends. It was times like these when she missed being able to read expressions. Still, the Force told her all she needed to know. Two of Lim's apprentices had failed their test and had taken their first faltering steps toward the Dark Side. She knew that path well, as she had walked down it herself during the massacre at Ord Craade. She took a breath, reaching out with the Force into the room. Both had distanced themselves from the rest of the group, but she could feel their confusion and sense of betrayal. Had I been any different, she wondered to herself.
