Rel stood, leaning against the console, breathing heavily, gathering herself again, covering up the little girl with a veteran spacerat. Var was getting herself into trouble too much. Those thugs were after her because of the gambling. Rel was going to have to stop using velvet gloves with Var. They didn't have anything else, couldn't afford to lose anything else. Rel wasn't going to lose Var too.
