The Christmas Riots escalated to a peak last night as civilian rioters challenged the 'mech forces of the 2nd Sarna Reserves.

It is unclear who began firing first, but by first light it was clear that the rampaging 213th Squadron had destroyed a sizeable portion of downtown Ridzia--killing over 600 civilians as well as the planetary governor Phial Wiltkinson. Captain Irina Shishkova, the de facto commander of the military forces in-system, was quoted as saying, "This is intolerable! Non-Tikonov troops have all but raided our capitol city! They have since fled, but I swear on the gaves of the dead that they shall be avenged!" Captain Shishkova was seen leaving the ruins of the capitol building in the escourt of Maskirovka troops.

In related news, the fighting has begun spreading into the more rural areas of the planet. Tikonov Reserves Infantry units have been called out to supress the damage to the surrounding countryside and the vital water reserves.

The recent move by the AFFS has again heightened tensions along the Davion-Draconis border with the re-fortification of the planet Caph by elements of the newly rebuilt 35th Aragon Borderers. Caph, a former Terran Hegemony world, has been claimed by both the Draconis Combine and the Federated Suns since the fall of the Star League nearly three hundred years ago. While currently listed as a Davion member-world, it is uncertain whether or not Duke Aaron Sandoval will expend any real effort to protect the virtually worthless planet if the Combine presses their claim upon it.

Further reports of hostilities have been filtering in from the Davion planets near the Capellan Regional Capitol of Tikonov. While it is unclear what is currently transpiring, is seems that forces from both the AFFS and the CCAF were put at heightened alert on the morning of January 1st. Our reporters on both Tikonov and the Davion world of Mira have not been heard from since that time. It is still unknown as to the location or condition of Tikinov ruler Pavel Ridzik, who is most likely the key to these current events.

A Special Report from Tikonov: "We have confirmed reports that the planet of Tikonov, seat of rulership for the Tikonov Commonality of the Capellan Confederation, was attacked this morning by units belonging to the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns! Against the Ares Conventions, the planet was first bombed from orbit using debris taken from the surrounding asteroid belts of the Tikonov system. Landings have begun as I transmit this, as only the ComStar facility being immune to the ravages of war taking place just outside their gates. The invaders bear the symbols of the Aragon Borderer's on their darkly-painted 'mechs. They are engaging forces of the Tikonov Reserves, but have not yet been halted. The Tikonov Commonality has suffered yet another blow today as a long-dormant store of biological weapons were accidently triggered on the agrarian world of Pelione. Unable to evacuate the population due to military restraints on JumpShips, ComStar and the NETC are sending in as many relief ships as they can spare at this time.

Report dated: 4 January 3028
The 5th Squadron of the 2nd Sarna Reserves and the Mercenary unit Narn's Neandertals stationed on the planet Sherai were attacked today by units of the Tikonov Commonality in responce for the supposed biological attack on Pelione. We have had no contact with the Sarna forces, and can only assume that the Capellan Hussars were successful in killing the leader of the Reserves, Lord Mikael Zhang.

In related news, forces from the 2nd Sarna Reserves have been stationed just inside the Tikinov Commonality's borders to "prevent further incursions into Sarna space".
