LBW-1L Longbow

The LBW-1L is a somewhat rare sight in the Inner Sphere. A competing design to the fabled Archer, the Longbow factory on Carver V was captured during the Amaris Coup and the untested designs desperately thrown against the SLDF in the final months of the war to free Terra. The 'mech fared well, even in the hands of the barely-trained Rim-Worlds troops, and Kerensky ordered that the factory be repaired and made operational as soon as possible in order to assist in rebuilding the decimated ranks of the Regular Army. He took most of the finished Longbows with him on The Exodus, and the factory was destroyed early in the 1st Succession War. Since then, only the mysterious Wolf's Dragoons have been able to field more than a handful of the effective long-range 'mechs. This particular vehicle fell into the hands of the Decker's Derelicts mercenary unit during fighting on Foot Fall in August of 3027. While seriously damaged, the 'mech was shipped to their Mechwarrior Training Academy on New Earth for study and repair.
