Capable of carrying four Battlemechs and two Aerospace fighters directly into the heat of battle from system jump-point, the Leopard dropship is one of the most widely used inter-planetary transport craft in history. Smaller than the spheroid Union-Class, the Leopard was introduced in the early days of the Star League--before the crafting of rounded armor plates became possible. Over the years the Leopard-class has earned a loving nickname of "The Brick" and is still produced in limited numbers today, the majority of the avionics are repairable by modern techs--only the V84 drive system requiring major work and salvage to keep operational. Simple and easy to maintain, the Leopard-class is expected to remain in service for centuries. This particular Leopard was formerly attached to the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery on Murchison until stolen by elements of the Northwind Irregulars in January of 3028.
