Davion's Draconis March Militia

With large, high-altitude continents and few true mountain ranges, Errai is known for its Siberian climate and surprisingly wide array of surviving native species. The planet has few easily accessable sources of raw materials needed for modern civilization, the mineral-encrusted Mantha Desert being the sole exception. Colonized during the second wave from Terra, the system was brought under Hegemony control by James McKenna himself in the mid-23rd century. The colonists prospered with the assistance of Terran technology, despite the harsh conditions and often hostile native life. This continued nearly unchanged until 2766, when the Hegemony fell to Lord Stefan Amaris. The on-planet SLDF units held out in their underground Castle Brian for two years, until Amaris personally ordered their destruction by use of nuclear weapons. Errai fell into the hands of the Capellan Confederation after Kerensky's Exodus, changing hands to the Draconis Combine and eventually to the Federated Suns. The 'mech production facility in Mantha was destroyed early in the Succession Wars and the planet was spared the wrath of the following centuries of conflict due to its lack of remaining heavy industry.

The most recent military action took place in mid 3027 when a company of the 34th Aragon Borderers engaged a superior force of Kuritan 'mechs from the 5th Sword of Light regiment at the Battle of Kindmeare Pass. While almost completely destroyed, the Borderers held off long enough for reinforcements to arrive and push the Dracos back off-planet.
